This course is a collaboration with Kaffae’s sister company, Orkydaceae. Orkydaceae is a sustainability consultancy and shares its method of identifying moments of sustainability in localities with Kaffae. In this course one will investigate different coffee regions and make a plan to use coffee as a medium for sustainability in a locality. The outcome of this course is a plan of action, a way of leading the coffee industry down a ‘more sustainable pathway’.

Sunstainability

This course focuses on developing one’s style of making coffee. While there are steps to making a drink and standards defining and differentiating specific drinks, there isn’t a discussion on how to move through the steps to make different coffee drinks. This course, therefore, fills the gap by elaborating drink preparation methods. The course is practical so that you can tinker with your own methods so as to grow and feel confident in your own technique.

This course provides knowledge of the foundation of Coffee. It enables one to see the coffee industry from Kaffae’s perspective. The sections of the course are: What is coffee, Speciation, Origin Myth, Economic History, The Beverage, and Who is a Barista. It is open to everyone, no prior knowledge or experience of working with coffee is required.
